2 Independent Qualitative Research Consultants - Team Leader and Research Assistant - New Nets Project In Mozambique
Location: Mozambique, Zambezia, Niassa, Tete, Manica and Sofala
Days – 30 days for each role, 3 months from August to September 2021
Tropical Health is seeking two consultants as part of the New Nets Project which is part of a multi country pilot which is completing enhanced surveillance to support observational impact analyses on the deployment of next-generation LLINs.
Under this consultancy the team of two consultants will collect qualitative data from the study sites to evaluate the public health impact of deploying the next generation nets. The consultants will gather evidence on ITN uptake and usage which is crucial to understanding the social determinants of impact for the next-generation nets and determining transmission risk. The qualitative component of the evaluation will explore the reception of the next-generation nets within the population of the selected study districts.
The study component will involve direct observations and focus group discussions in Cuamba, Mandimba, Guro and Changara.
The Team Leader should have a PhD in Anthropology or Sociology, with a minimum of 5 years working in sociocultural/medical anthropology.
The 2nd role is a Research Assistant to work with the Team Leader, we are looking for a minimum of late stage PhD student in Anthropology / Sociology with a minimum of 3 years working in a sociocultural/medical anthropology environment.
The Team Leader and Research Assistant should be based in Mozambique; applicants based outside Mozambique are not eligible for this consultancy.
