Caroline Vanderick Managing Director Co-founder of Tropical Health

Caroline has close to 20 years of health programmes management experience in Africa and Asia.  She is responsible for the company’s development and project delivery and serves as senior consultant on some assignments. Prior to co-founding Tropical Health, she was the Programmes Director of a large UK health NGO, in charge of overseeing and developing its Africa programmes portfolio. Her career, prior to that, shows a steady growth path, including eight years of excellent leadership in the management of two very large and complex /UKAid-funded programmes in Nigeria. Most projects she has been leading involved an element of strengthening local capacity of health managers and health systems. She has been closely involved in developing and supporting the implementation of strong M&E plans, including overseeing the implementation of various types of surveys.  Caroline has a business management background and a Masters in health policy, planning and financing from the London School of Tropical Medicine.

Dr Albert Kilian Technical Director Co-founder of Tropical Health

Since 1992, Albert has been active in public health and has specialized in M&E with an emphasis on quantitative data collection and operational research. His experience includes 15 years in developing countries health systems working at district and national levels and five years as technical advisor to the Ugandan Ministry of Health. He has carried out malaria and public health consultancies in over 15 countries in Africa and Asia and has intensive research experience with over 40 peer-reviewed publications. Albert is a key member of the Roll Back Malaria M&E Reference Group and is globally recognised for his innovative work on M&E. Albert originally trained as a paediatrician before obtaining a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Medical Parasitology and a Masters of Public Health focusing on epidemiology and statistics.

Through our long professional experience, we have built a wide network of consultants. Our experts have all several years of experience relevant to the M&E field and have all worked in support of better outcomes of health programmes. Amongst them, we have highly specialized consultants in different areas such as quantitative methods with advanced statistical and impact modeling knowledge, qualitative methods, programmes M&E, evaluations and review or value for money experts.
